Third single from Mud Bay's album "Best Laid Plans"
Reporting in from the relative safety and eclectic recesses of his mid-town Cloverdale home and emporium, Mud Bay Slim explores the side-effects and increasing volume of a rampant flow of media, myth and mis-information charging up the driveway and into a person's daily life. "Too many tools in the tool shed to find the tools that I need" indeed.
Slim emerges from the random stacks of bric-a-brac, memorabilia, vinyl records, tube amplifiers and other antiquities adorning his tool-shed to meet a Mad Magazine version of a modern world that might be getting a fill of itself. Delivering an in-your-face vocal and his spare-no-quarter harmonica stylings, Slim and the band take you for a trip down the rocky road that leads to the further reaches of the blues.
Featuring the fine roadhouse piano stylings of Peter Sweetzir.
lyrics
I don't need no sports jacket, I don't drive no Audi Fox
Cook me a damn good breakfast, woman
Give me a clean pair of socks
My disposition's been relocated
Somebody just sat on my hat
If you can find my disposition won't you please just bring it back
Too many tools in my tool-shed, find the tools that I need
My place looks like Red Foxx's place, I can't find the tools that I need
I'm a hairy hoarder baby, a hairy hoarder indeed
Oprah called me this morning, said the film crew's on their way
Doctor Phil keeps filling my mailbox, he won't go away
Too many tools in my tool-shed, to find the tools that I need
My place looks like Red Foxx's place
I'm a hairy hoarder baby, a hairy hoarder indeed
My disposition's been relocated
Somebody just sat on my hat
My disposition's been relocated
Somebody just sat on my hat
If you find my disposition won't you please
If you find my disposition won't you please
If you find my disposition won't you please just bring it back
